Any information on a fishing rod Montague 6208?
I recently bought a new house, and left in the garage was a fishing rod, 6208 Montague. I know absolutely nothing about fishing, but perhaps it was here to give me useful information about the staff – What kind of fish is used, what is done, where it was purchased, etc., etc.? I was grateful for any information.
Without seeing the bar is difficult to say. I can not find anything in a bar in 6208. l can not find much Montague. My best guess would be a model of 62 inches long, perhaps a line for baitcasting Over 8 (linen £ 24 trials), built for bass fishing. if it looks like bamboo and has 6 sides, it is probably in bamboo. if it is fairly heavy and semi clear is the solid fiberglass. I think I may have made some metal rods … check with a magnet … but if they are made of bars copper, and some have been (beryllium copper), the imam I will not say. if it is round and relatively light, it is probably glass tube. stems glass would be after the Second World War. metal bars in many guides were wrapped with thread.
